Nassau, Bahamas - Omar Francis was the first winner of the Supermodel of the Bahamas 2008 and has had many experiences and successes throughout his modeling career as a Supermodel. Omar has walked for such fashion events such as "Islands of the world fashion week" featured in the ABC's Ugly Betty season 4 episode 8 series, and numerous print ads.

The Bahamian Supermodel has since relocated to Florida where he has been training and pursuing professional wrestling and has been offered countless contracts to perform and tour throughout Florida. One of his major contract proposals...

I Love The Bahamas Eyecon Fashion Show

Hi everyone! So as you all know I had a fashion show to attend this past Saturday. It meant that I had to miss movie night with my friends, but I couldn't pass up such an amazing opportunity! (I'll see Side Effects some other time)

So let's get to it! The night was amazing! It was full of avant garde fashion that I did not expect to see in this country! When most people think about fashion in this country, it's usually matching. Like monochromatic matching. While they may be on trend this spring it's not a healthy way to approach fashion. So to see fashion designers, and make up artists illustrate skills outside of this box, I'm already impressed! This was truly revolutionary and I hope to see more great things like this and from this company!

I should state now that I may end up forgetting the names of some of the designers so I'm going to do my best. Kishanna Sands showed her amazing designs, along with Alicia Seymour.

This is my friend, the creator and designer for Khperas Sun. She's working on her piece last minute as always.

It was funny to see my friend get her make up done. She typically doesn't wear make up at all!

This jacket was made out of 100% human hair! I'm sure that this was a nightmare to make but it is so beautiful! Easily the best piece I saw all night!

And this is my friend Krista that I took with me! Isn't she pretty?!

This look was amazing! I loved the underwater theme! It was definitely a 'Bahamian' theme!

And after the owner of Eyecon Bahamas and mastermind of this event, Leslie Simone spoke, it was time for the event to start!

This is Junkanoo! Junkanoo in it's simplest form is a street parade where people play musical instrument and adorn costumes made from paper mache. It's a competition but it's such a huge part of our culture that it brings more people together than apart. It was really nice for members of two of the major groups to come together for this event.
