State-Recognized Funeral of Former Senator and Parliamentarian, the late Edward Andrew 'Dud' Maynard

The State-Recognized Funeral of the late Edward Andrew 'Dud' Maynard, former Senator and Parliamentarian, was held today at St. Agnes Anglican Church, Baillou Hill Road, Grants Town.  The service was conducted by Rev. I. Ranfurly Brown, with remarks by the Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis.  Interment was at Woodlawn Gardens Cemetery.  At the cemetery, the National Flag was presented to Mr. Maynard's widow, Mrs. Isadora Maynard, by Minister of Education and Technical & Vocational Training, the Hon. Glenys Hanna Martin.

PRIME Minister Philip "Brave" Davis with other officials joined the family and friends of Andrew "Dud" Maynard in a final farewell to the former parliamentarian at his funeral on Friday.

Lie-in-State ceremonies for former Senator and Parliamentarian the late Edward Andrew 'Dud' Maynard are being held today in the Foyer of the Senate, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., where members of the public may sign the Book of Condolence and pay last respects.

Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Philip Davis, as well as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation the Hon. Chester Cooper, and Leader of the Opposition the Hon. Michael Pintard are shown as they paid their respects.  Prime Minister Davis conveyed words of condolence and encouragement to the family.

A State-Recognized Funeral for Mr. Maynard will be held tomorrow, Friday, December 30, 2022 at St. Agnes Anglican Church, Baillou Hill Road, Grants Town, with interment at Woodlawn Gardens Cemetery, Soldier Road.  The funeral service will be broadcast live via ZNS Radio Network from St. Agnes Church beginning at 11:00 a.m.
