Bahamas Deputy Consul General to Atlanta Monique Vanderpool and Bernadette Christie, wife of Prime Minister Perry G. Christie had the opportunity to meet some of the influential women in Georgia’s political arena.

While The Bahamas cannot endorse any American political candidates or parties, the mixer allowed the women to connect in a relaxed atmosphere where they shared their experiences being at the forefront in politics as candidates, wives, and supporters.

“It was a wonderful opportunity to meet women who are leaders in their professions and those who are working in some way with politics,” said Mrs. Vanderpool.

Mrs. Christie and Mrs. Vanderpool engaged in conversation with many of the lady leaders including Sandy Deal, wife of Georgia Governor Nathan Deal; Michelle Nunn, Candidate for U.S Senate in Georgia; Xernona Clayton, icon in the realms of media and Civil Rights; Dr. Valerie Montgomery, first female President of Morehouse School of Medicine; Dr. Sharon Malone, wife of U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder; and Dr. Bernice King, daughter of late Civil Rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Election Day in the United States will be held on November 4, 2014.
