MIAMI, FL - With a proud Bahamas Consul General in Miami Rhoda Jackson looking on, Bahamian Chef Kevin Pratt won first prize for Most Innovative Dish during the 2011 Taste of The Caribbean Festival held in Miami, Florida, last week. Chef Pratt was a junior chef Team Bahamas, which won a Silver Medal overall, led by Chefs Jason McBride and Devin Johnson.

PRIME Minister Hubert Ingraham left Nassau yesterday morning for St. Kitts, where he will attend the Caricom Heads of Government meeting. Prime Minister Ingraham is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Brent Symonette and Bahamas Ambassador to Caricom Sidney Collie. The Prime Minister and his delegation will return to Nassau on Sunday.

DARLING FAMILY DAY BAHAMIAN professional football player Devard Darling was in town recently to finalize plans for the "Darling Family Day" - a one-day fundraiser with activities for the entire family. The family fun day event is scheduled to take place at D W Davis Jr High on Saturday (July 16). Activities include a flag-football tournament, a steak-out and party boat cruise.
