COVID-19 death toll rises to 176

THE country’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 176 after a 94-year-old woman died from the disease in late January.

According to the Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 report dated January 28, the New Providence woman died on January 27.

Fire On Bay Street

An abandoned building and several cars are on fire on Bay Street downtown.

According to the police human remains were found on the scene

Director of Fire Services, Superintendent Kenrick Morris told members of the press at the scene that sometime around 3:26pm, the Fire Department received a call about a building fire on Bay Street.

“As a result of this call, we responded where we met a two story structure engulfed in flames,” Superintendent Morris said. “The fire was controlled and later extinguished resulting in damages to that building only.”
