Baha Mar Associates judge bridge architecture and construction at IBS Build-A-Bridge Challenge
Nassau,
Bahamas - Baha Mar sponsored and participated in the 6th annual IBS
Build-A-Bridge Challenge that took place at the College of The Bahamas
Performing Arts Centre on April 25. Teams from 20 schools throughout The
Bahamas competed, building bridges made of Popsicle sticks and Elmer's
glue to create the lightest structure that bears the heaviest load
before breaking.

Nassau, Bahamas - The
College of the Bahamas Union of Students (COBUS), in its meetings with
the Minister of Education and Minister of State of Finance, brought to
light many facts concerning the matter of the implementation of new and
increased non-tuition fees at the College of the Bahamas, but in extreme
displeasure, has yet to find resolution.
At
the meeting with the Minister of Education, the Hon. Jerome Fitzgerald,
on Monday April 22nd, 2013, students present shared that despite the
Government's investment in scholarship and financial assistance, that
scholarships do not cover non-tuition fees, and that many students still
will be burdened with paying them. We shared the many details of the
College's poor and insufficient services and resources,

Bahama Island dates have been announced! The film festival will run in
Freeport from
October 31st - November 2nd, 2013. Organizers have expanded the
film
competition and are calling for original Bahamian films nationwide for
competition in
three categories: High School, College
and
Open.
The Bahamas
High School Film Competition is open to every high school student who is a
resident of The Bahamas and between the ages of 14 and 18 years on the 1st August
