A 29-year-old man who denied breaking into another man's house was yesterday placed on a daily curfew leading up to his trial.

Police said Giovanni Sweeting broke into Wisking Petithomme’s Minnie Street home sometime between 7am and 10am on September 15. #Prosecutors alleged the accused did this intending to steal. #Sweeeting pleaded not guilty during his hearing before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt Evans and his case was adjourned to November 24 for trial. #In the meantime, Sweeting was granted $7,000 bail. Magistrate Vogt Evans said as part of the conditions of his release, he must sign into his nearest police station every Sunday on or before 7pm. She also said the accused would be fitted with a monitoring device and placed on a 9pm-7am curfew. #If Sweeting violates the condition of his bail, he could risk being remanded in prison until his trial is complete and a verdict is delivered.

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane

Sam, located a few hundred miles east-northeast of the northern

Leeward Islands, and on Tropical Storm Victor, located over the

eastern tropical Atlantic.

Shower activity associated with a trough of low pressure located

over the tropical Atlantic about midway between the Cabo Verde

Islands and the Lesser Antilles has become limited. Environmental

conditions are forecast to become less conducive over the next few

days, and significant development of this system is no longer

anticipated. The disturbance is forecast to move westward at 10

to 15 mph.
