DRY CLEANING EMPLOYEE ACCUSED OF STEALING GOODS

A MAN accused of stealing nearly $19,000 in goods from a local dry-cleaning company where he worked was granted bail yesterday in Magistrate's Court.

Roscoe Rox, 36, was granted $10,000 bail by Court 10 Magistrate Guilimina Archer after the prosecution offered no objection.

The Nassau Village resident was arraigned on a charge of stealing by reason of employment.

It is claimed that he stole 18,793.37 in goods from New Oriental Laundry and Cleaners Ltd.

The crime was committed between March 4 and July 5, 2011.

A MAN was arraigned in Magistrate's Court yesterday in connection with the theft of nearly $4,000 from a service station where he worked.

Delano Marc, 20, of Augusta Street, appeared before Magistrate Guilimina Archer in Court 10 to face five charges of stealing by reason of employment and another five charges of falsification of accounts.

It is alleged that the former cashier at Shell Sun Oil Service Ltd on the corner of Carmichael and Baillou Hill Roads, stole the money between December 28, 2011 and January 4, 2012.

THE final day of the 9th annual Tour of the Bahamas was a productive day for local riders while the winners from the most high profile visiting team dominated in the Pro division.

Bahamian resident Lee Farmer closed out the competition on a high note when he took stage three of the event, Sunday's 57-mile road race.

Jay Major, in his first year making the transition from the junior category, competed as a category three rider. The current Caribbean junior champion finished third in the 42-mile road race to close out the competition. He finished third in stage two in 1:33.31s and eighth in stage three in 2:14.25s.

THERE was one minute left in the third quarter of the 2012 National Football Conference (NFC) championship game between the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants, when 49ers cornerback Tarell Brown collided hard with teammate and safety guard Dashon Goldson.

The two teammates attempted to intercept a ball thrown by Giants quarterback Eli Manning. The play was no text book success. Racing from his position, Goldson knocked Brown in the helmet, sending him straight to the ground. Brown was down for several minutes before getting up and limping off the field never to return.
