VIDEO: NEW OWNERS FOR ATLANTIS

PRIME Minister Hubert Ingraham has announced that Kerzner intends to transfer ownership of the Atlantis Resort to Canadian company Brookfield.
The deal, which covers all Kerzner’s Paradise Island properties including the One and Only Ocean Club, will see Sol Kerzner stay on to manage the properties.
The prime minister said Brookfield Asset Management, a publicly-traded company with $159 billion in assets, has many years of operating experience and more that $69 billion of property assets – giving them special expertise in real estate.

FREEPORT, Bahamas (AP) -- Natalie Novosel banked in a shot from the
foul line with under a second left to lift No. 4 Notre Dame to a 56-54
win over seventh-ranked Duke in the Junkanoo Jam final on Saturday
night.
Skylar Diggins scored 19 points and Novosel had 15 for the Irish (5-1), who rallied from a 16-point halftime deficit.
Freshman Elizabeth Williams had 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks for Duke (4-1).

T'AUREN Moss did what many Bahamian swimmers dream of doing - to win a medal at an international swimming event.
Not only did he win a medal, but he won the coveted gold medal, demonstrating he is at the top of his age group in the 50 meter butterfly.
The 16-year old St Augustine's College student and member of the Sea Bees swim club travelled to Plantation, Florida, to compete in the annual Florida Gold Coast Winter Swimming Championships where teams from Florida and the Bahamas took part.
Moss led the pack in the 50m fly, swimming a preliminary time of 23.24 seconds, shaving a whopping 6.67 seconds from his seed time of 29.91 going into the race.

AN ECO-FRIENDLY boutique resort operator yesterday said it was aiming to invest between $3-$4 million, spread over two phases, in establishing a "flagship presence at the front door to the southern Bahamas" through taking over a Rum Cay property.
Unveiling the agreement to brand, and ultimately take management control of Sumner Point Marina and Villas, Mark Ellert, president of Guy Harvey Outpost Resorts, told Tribune Business that the company aimed to take its second Bahamian property "to the next level" by "taking a lemon and making it into lemonade".
