Man in critical condition following shooting

Bullet holes line the exterior walls of an apartment building through Augusta Street where a 27-year-old man, now in critical condition in hospital, was gunned down only a few yards from a busy bar and liquor store yesterday. The man was shot multiple times about the body.
Only a few minutes following that shooting police received information that three men suspected of being involved in the incident were seen in the area of Strachan Corner.
According to police reports, when officers approached the men they fled and officers gave chase.
“Officers followed the suspects into the Fritz Lane area,” said the police report.

A magistrate fined a policeman $150 for traffic infractions he committed a year ago.
De’Ashan Smith, 27, of Yamacraw Beach Estates, admitted to not paying attention to the road while riding a motorcycle on Commonwealth Boulevard, Elizabeth Estates on December 24, 2009. Smith also admitted that he was not wearing a protective helmet and that the motorcycle was uninsured when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez yesterday.
