Reports: Marsh Harbour airport has been forced to close to US flights

Reports reached The Tribune late last evening that Marsh Harbour international airport has been forced to close to incoming flights from the United States.
Minister of Tourism and Aviation, Senator Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace told The Tribune at around 8pm that he was seeking more information on the matter as he did not have the full details having spent the day in the Senate.
"I'm trying to get the full story," he told The Tribune.

Unconfirmed reports are that the airport was shut off to incoming U.S. flights due to there being inadequate fire services to satisfy the US's Federal Aviation Administration standards at the site after a fire truck malfunctioned....

Nassau, Bahamas -

Aspiring and established
librarians participated in a one-week workshop held at the Administrative
Office of the  Public Library & Reading Centre during the week of
July 26.

The facilitator for the annual workshop was Ms. Susy Siel,
a librarian from Wisconsin. Ms. Siel has been visiting The Bahamas over
the past several years to conduct the workshop.  Also participating in
the workshop were two Family Island librarians hailing from Mayaguana
and Eleuthera.

At the end of the workshop, the participants visited
all the public librarians on New Providence as part of the training...

live show along with some
of the young talent of Nassau on

Sunday, August 8th, 3:00 at the British
Columbia Hilton. 

All proceeds from the show will benefit The Ranfurly
Home.  

Those with Standing Ovation Movie Ticket stubs (Galleria Cinemas) can purchase
tickets to the benefit show at a discounted price and also attend a 'Meet and Greet' with the cast
immediately following the show.
