Jonas Brothers burn up the stage at Atlantis, Bahamas

Mon, Apr 20th 2009, 12:00 AM

Atlantis' Imperial Ballroom was rocked to its core on Saturday night as the Jonas Brothers performed to the delight of thousands of screaming fans of all ages.

Hardly just a pre-teen and teen girl phenomenon, the handsome sibling trio thrilled the crowds with their finely crafted mix of pop, dance and rock songs. Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas, stars of the Disney movie 'Camp Rock' and a formidable music franchise rivaling the legends of rock and pop music, attracted a surprisingly broad cross-section of fans to Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, on April 18.

The brothers Jonas are on their world tour that includes multiple stops in the Bahamas, several countries in South America, Spain and France, along with many dates in key cities in the United States.

Saturday night's performance kicked off with a recording of Queen's 'We Will Rock You' as the crowd was stirred into a frenzy of screams and cheers. As the lights came up and the music swelled into their hit single 'That's Just the Way We Roll' many in the audience left their seats and rushed to the closest spot of the main stage and the I-shaped thrust jutting into the seating areas.

The band and vocal trio took the audience through a non-stop ride of their hottest numbers, from the pulsing dance number 'BB Good' to the touching ballad, 'A Little Bit Longer', inspired by Nick Jonas' experience with diabetes.

The night was capped by the double-whammy of 'SOS' -- the band's second single from their self-titled second studio album (and their first single to break Billboard's Top 20) -- and the closing number, 'Burnin' Up', the Jonas Brothers' first single from their third studio album, 'A Little Bit Longer'. The song was punctuated by a surprise appearance of 'Big Rob', the brothers' bodyguard and rapping star in his own right. The crowd went wild as Big Rob rushed down the stage thrust and was joined by the trio in the pounding final?.

It was an excellent evening of music and excitement, put on in grand Atlantis style!
