Nearly 100,000 pieces of chicken passed through the doors of KFC Nassau on Tuesday as the fast food giant kicked off its new social-media based 5-STAR FANATIC promotion by reintroducing its one-day mega special of 5 for $5.

Using the fantastic combination of five pieces of chicken for just five dollars and great prizes, including iPad minis and iPhone 5s phones, KFC Nassau is giving its customer fanatics an opportunity to demonstrate their true love for the KFC brand in a fun and creative way. This five-week 5 Star Fanatic initiative gives KFC consumers the chance to win by uploading videos of themselves demonstrating what KFC means to them through the company’s official Facebook page, which showcases epic clips of customer's passion for the KFC brand and how it fits in their everyday lives.

“There was no better opportunity to surprise our biggest fans with the 5 for $5 special than with the launch of the KFC 5-STAR FANATIC promotion,” said Gabriel Sastre, VP & General Manager of Restaurants (Bahamas) Limited. “At KFC Nassau we believe in listening to our consumers and, as we inspire them to share what they love about the brand, we wanted to show our appreciation to them with the return of this great special.”

KFC Nassau's 5-STAR FANATIC offers fans the chance to win fantastic prizes, which include Grand Prizes of one of five Apple iPhone 5s with one-year voice and data plan from BTC, in addition to Apple iPad minis with retina display. The five videos with the highest total vote count at the end of the promotion will be win an iPhone 5s with the voice and data plan, and the twenty top videos throughout the promotion, as determined by KFC Nassau's judges, will be awarded one of twenty new iPad minis.

“We’re excited to create such an innovative way for our consumers to rediscover the KFC brand and the everyday favourites that they enjoy," said Sastre. "Adding an exciting and rewarding twist to this social media campaign is a great way for the KFC to engage with new and existing followers.”

The KFC 5-STAR FANATIC promotion runs from February 3rd through March 9th. Consumers enter the promotion via KFC Nassau’s official Facebook page. Facebook fans can view the uploaded videos, share with their friends and vote for their favourite contestant.
