(CBL) Education Fund Launch. The company plans to increase its corporate citizenship by offering $50,000 a year in scholarships over the next five years to Bahamian students. Mr. Saunders commended CBL for being a corporate entity that is giving back to the country. He said that the funds would go a long way in providing scholarships that would make a significant difference in the lives of many young people.
According to Human Resources Manager, Ms. Denise Barnes, the establishment of the scholarship has a two-fold thrust. First, it fulfils the corporate social responsibility mandate of the global Heineken Company to assist in building the country where subsidiary companies are located. CBL chose to start with young people and education with a focus on high achievers. Second, Barnes said that the Brewery was very interested in attracting Bahamian talent to fill various roles in the company. These range from areas in Technology, Science, Sales and Marketing, Retailing, Warehouse Management, Engineering and Brewing.
