Two subscribers to Cable Bahamas' REVON broadband Internet service got a hefty reward last week when they were randomly selected as the winners of the telecom company's giveaway promotion.

Cable Bahamas launched the promotion in May of this year to encourage more people to sign up and experience their REVON broadband Internet speeds, which had been upgraded to as much as 70Mb/s in April, at no additional cost.

As an incentive for new customers and a reward to existing customers, Cable Bahamas offered two identical prize packages, each worth more than $5,000.

Cable Bahamas Marketing Manager Sharnette Curry said that rewarding loyal customers was just as important to the company as it was to give an incentive for new customers to upgrade from their other Internet provider to REVON.

"Our customers are why we exist," Curry said. "This $5,000 prize package is like giving back the value of more than 11 years of an average REVON subscription cost. That's a tremendous value and one that we think is a great way to say 'thank you' for the loyalty our customers have given us."

The prize packages included one-year subscriptions to the company's triple play of services, including 70Mb/s REVON Extreme broadband Internet service, all premium REVTV cable television services and the REVOICE Home Phone service.

In addition, each winner would receive a 60" HDTV, a home DVR system including the DVR and three additional room units, an Apple iMac computer, cordless phone system and a BOSE surround sound system.

Francyss Pratt recently signed up for REVON and she was randomly selected from the thousands of new subscribers. At the recent prize presentation she said:

"I have never won anything before in my life and for my first time to win something as large as this is amazing. I love my experience with REVON.

To persons who have not made the switch, I urge you to do so now, you won't regret it."

Ava Cargill was chosen from the thousands of existing REVON subscribers who have been with Cable Bahamas since it launched the first broadband Internet service in The Bahamas.

"I've been a Cable Bahamas customer for almost 14 years," Cargill said. "I signed up for the Internet when it became available, I think it was CoralWave then, but I've never looked back."

When asked if she would recommend others to move to REVON, Cargill responded: "I encourage you, if you haven't done so, to make the switch. Everybody in the home is able to surf the net without any issues and I love it!"
