Cessna pilot flown to US after crash

MARK Roberts, who was seriously injured when his Cessna crashed on Little Whale Cay Wednesday afternoon, was flown to Jackson Memorial Hospital early yesterday morning by Med Evac.

Mr Roberts, president of FYP Builders Mall, is to undergo an operation this morning at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute to try to save his left eye, which was badly damaged. He will eventually have to undergo reconstructive facial surgery which will include the repair of a broken nose. His left ankle, which was also broken, will be set.

"Other than that," said his friend Felipé Iturralde who accompanied him to hospital, "Mark is in good spirits, he is conscious and remembers everything."
