Man With Ankle Bracelet Arrested For Armed Robbery

A man wearing an ankle bracelet was arrested over the weekend for illegal gun possession, The Nassau Guardian can reveal. Police from the Southern Police Station responded to a report that a man was firing a gun at Quakoo Street Friday night. The officers' inquiries led them to a house on the street.

The officers arrested a 34-year-old man after they found a loaded gun and three bullets. The suspect had to wear an ankle bracelet as a condition of his bail on an armed robbery charge.

Meanwhile, a man on bail for two murders is back in custody for armed robbery.Dior Johnson, 24, is accused of robbing a man of jewelry worth $3,300 at gunpoint. Johnson, of Pinewood Gardens, is accused of the July 26, 2006 stabbing death of Jason Rolle. Johnson's trial for the murder was put off because his lawyer Ian Cargill was ill. He is also on bail for the 2009 shooting death of Ignacio Smith.
