Letter: Microchips have been linked to health problems for animals

The Bahamas Animal Protection and Control Act includes a mandatory microchipping provision for dog breeders, security dogs and dogs perceived to be dangerous. Animal Protection legislation is vital in order to ensure the well-being of animals.

Unfortunately, the microchipping provision in the Act will not protect or enhance the lives of our four-legged friends; it will only create more problems for them.
