NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Grand Bahama Port Authority (GBPA) is set to establish a physical presence in Nassau with the launch of a satellite office this week as it aims to solidify its growth strategies, according to its principal and director Rupert Hayward.

Hayward, the grandson of former GBPA co-chair Sir Jack Hayward, responding to Eyewitness News inquiries, stated, "Nassau stands as the pivotal political and financial hub of The Bahamas, housing many key stakeholders critical to the nation's success. It's imperative that Freeport and Grand Bahama seamlessly integrate with the broader Bahamian landscape, particularly Nassau, to foster mutual benefit."

He further stated, "As Freeport anticipates substantial investment influxes, amounting to $2 billion, it becomes increasingly essential to establish a robust connection with our brothers and sisters in Nassau. This symbiotic relationship facilitates reciprocal advantages, enabling both Nassau and Freeport to leverage Freeport's emerging investment opportunities. By establishing a physical presence, we aim to solidify our growth strategies by aligning with the Nassau community and nurturing vital partnerships."

According to Hayward, the office will serve as a conduit to address the rising demand following various new projects, particularly among Bahamian entrepreneurs and real estate investors.

"Through strategic integration and collaboration, we can pave the way for enhanced economic prosperity and sustainable development across The entire Bahamas."
