'Watershed' Mayaguana Deal Backed

THE BAHAMAS was yesterday said to have experienced "a watershed moment" after the Government approved the revised Heads of Agreement for the I-Group's Mayaguana project, paving the way for a $24-$32 million investment in the development's first phase.

Confirming that the Ingraham administration had approved the revised deal subject to some "adaptations" to the relevant documents, Hotel Corporation chairman, Michael Scott, said he was hoping the Mayagauna agreement and enabling legislation would be brought to Parliament by October this year.
