St. Cecilia’s Catholic School celebrated the conclusion of Catholic Schools Week with a vibrant Junkanoo rushout and cultural show, this year. After a week of various activities, the excited students, teachers, administrators, parents, and other supporters participated in two laps around the primary school’s campus before being entertained by artists such as Sweet Emily, Novie Pierre, and DMac.

Consolidated Water (Bahamas) Ltd. (CWCO) made a donation to the school’s swag-a-thon which was in part aimed at promoting Bahamian culture. The school’s principal, Ms. Vanta Culmer said, “St. Cecilia’s engages its students in many aspects of life. CWCO assisted the students with experiencing culture and their support demonstrates a commitment to assisting our young people.”

CWCO General Manager, Henderson Cash, highlighted that the water supplier was excited to join in the enriching experience of Catholic Schools Week. “It is an honor to play a part in educating our youth about the importance of cultural heritage and community spirit. Supporting St. Cecilia’s in their celebration of Bahamian culture is just one way CWCO will continue to invest in the next generation,” he said.

Lavant Pratt, DJ Rev Sweeting, Ian Alleyne-McQuay, DJ Godson, Shaad Collie and The VIPs, and Ilsha McPhee were also involved in the cultural show.
