An American woman awaiting trial for allegedly scheming to kill her estranged husband was yesterday allowed to change her address over concerns for her safety.

Lindsay Shiver's lawyer Owen Wells made the request after her condo was allegedly burglarized last week.

Prosecutors Karine MacVean and Kenny Thompson did not object to the bail variation after confirming that they'd seen a police report about the incident.

Sometime between October 5 and 6, unknown persons broke into Shiver's place and stole a tennis bracelet, worth $13,000, two diamond rings, each valued at $2,500, and other goods, valued at $5,000.

According to Wells, Shiver moved after the incident and is in the process of finding another apartment.

Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson granted the variation of the terms of Shiver's $100,000 cash bail.

She returns to court on November 6 to provide the court with her new address.

Shiver, 36, was arrested in July after police allegedly uncovered the plot to kill her estranged husband, Robert Shiver, while investigating another crime.

Prosecutors say Shiver and her alleged lover Terrance Bethel and his friend Farron Newbold Jr. planned her husband's murder on July 16.

The couple is in the midst of a contentious divorce.

Shiver and her co-defendant are expected to receive a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI) that will fast-track their case to the Supreme Court on December 1.

As part of her bail terms, Shiver has to remain in the country until the VBI is served.
