A man who robbed a laundromat of $300 was on Wednesday sentenced to three years' imprisonment under a plea agreement.

Wilson Ford, 23, pleaded guilty to the March 23, 2021 armed robbery of Jet Wash on Bernard Road when he appeared before Justice Gregory Hilton.

Ford will not receive any credit for the time he spent on remand as this period was already considered in determining his sentence.

Ford has to pay $300 in restitution within one year of his release from prison.

Additionally, he will be placed on two years' probation. If he's convicted of any other crime while on probation, Ford will have to spend another year in prison.

On the day in question, Ford and an accomplice were dropped off at a nearby church. The men walked to the laundromat and, once inside, pulled a gun and robbed Pamela Taylor of $300, the property of Jet Wash.

After the robbery, the men were taken to a home at Ludlow Street where they changed their clothing.

Ford's former co-defendants Kingsley Choute and Derek Hudson are expected to be tried for the armed robbery on September 25, 2024.

Carmen Brown was the prosecutor and Ford was represented by Michael Hanna.
