A 55-year-old man was on Friday granted a total of $16,000 bail after being accused of indecent assault and possession of child pornography.

Samuel Russell pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Deon Barr, did not object to bail.

Prosecutors say that on July 29, Russell inappropriately touched a nine-year-old girl. Police allegedly found sexually explicit photos and videos of a teenage girl in his cell phone while he was in custody on July 30.

Russell was ordered not to have any contact with his alleged victims.

His trial is scheduled to begin on October 2.
