A trial date has been set for former Free National Movement politician Lanisha Rolle and her three co-accused.

Rolle is charged along with her husband, Vontenken Rolle, Wilfred Rolle and Godfrey Burrows.

Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns yesterday set a tentative trial date for June 17, 2024 and a fixed trial date of September 29, 2025.

The charges concern alleged acts of corruption in the award of contracts when Rolle served as the minister of youth, sports and culture from 2019 to 2021.

The former Cabinet minister faces three counts of bribery and 13 counts of conspiracy to commit fraud by false pretenses.

She is accused of receiving a bribe of $48,303.74 to award a contract to G&C Landscaping for work at the Grand Bahama Sporting Complex.

Rolle is accused of conspiring with others to award fraudulent contracts worth $768,989.56.

That sum includes an accusation that Rolle and her husband conspired to commit fraud by false pretenses regarding a contract of $168,000 for work at Kendal G. L. Isaacs Gymnasium.

And Wilfred Rolle and Burrows are accused of conspiracy to commit fraud by false pretenses regarding a $34,600 contract for work at South Beach Pools.

Burrows alone is accused of receiving that amount by false pretenses.
