Young’s Fine Wine has emerged from a challenging 18 months stronger than ever – just in time to celebrate 10 years in business.

Like so many local businesses, the importer, distributor and retailer of wines and spirits suffered a considerable economic pinch because of the Covid-19 pandemic. But the team of 10 persevered to achieve this important milestone and are now looking forward to a bright future ahead.

Young’s was founded in this spirit of tenacity. Back in 2011, newly married William and Laura Young decided to start a company from the spare bedroom of their first apartment in Western New Providence.

What seemed like a crazy and intimidating idea at the time, has blossomed into a decade of hard work and success! Originally focusing on Champagne and operating under the name Young’s Champagne (they changed the name in 2014), Young’s Fine Wine has grown into an impressive company, offering a varied catalogue of products throughout the Islands of The Bahamas. As such, they have outgrown the spare-bedroom “office” and now operate out of their Sandyport Boutique and Airport Industrial Park warehouse.

While there’s still plenty of fine wine and champagne to choose from, they’ve also expanded into artisanal liquors, bar accessories, glassware, and are the official representatives for Evian water and Fever-Tree Mixers in The Bahamas. Commenting on the 10th Anniversary achievement, Company President, William Young said: “I am so proud of everything we have accomplished as a company. Ten years ago we entered an already established and competitive industry with a passion for great wine and a commitment to unparalleled service.”

"Since that time we’ve crafted a number of successful business partnerships which, these days, feel more like great friendships. I am also tremendously grateful and consider myself very lucky to work with an incredible team that has definitely become more like a family.”

Young’s Fine Wine has a deep connection to the local community, having partnered with various local charities such as Hands for Hunger, the Bahamas Humane Society and the Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas. The company has arranged and participated in beach clean-ups in New Providence and has an ongoing commitment to BREEF to donate funds raised by sales of Murphy Goode Wine.
