The Bahamas Engineering and Technology Advancement (BETA) Camp allowed a number of students to be exposed to careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) during a week-long interactive experience with funding provided by Sun Oil Limited.

The mission of the camp co-founded by engineers Trenicka Rolle and D’André Wilson-Ihejirika is to use technical expertise to inspire and improve the country through a series of collaborative efforts that they hope would strengthen STEM education throughout the nation, create opportunities for engineers and address vital infrastructure issues.

Rolle said the excitement of participants, along with their persistent spirit, created the ideal environment for teaching and learning in the STEM field.
