General Situation: The remnants of an old frontal boundary will dissipate across the NW Bahamas tonight while a ridge of high pressure remains the dominant feature over the area. On Friday a cold front will move down the coast of Florida with a pre-frontal trough affecting the Extreme NW Bahamas by early Friday. Later the front will become stationary over the NW Bahamas through late Saturday, then it will be pushed through the entire Bahamas by a strong building high pressure ridge over the area on Sunday. The tail end of this front will move back across the Bahamas as a warm front on Tuesday morning followed by a cold front on Wednesday.

Friday 20th – Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms mainly in the NW Bahamas during the day, but clouds and weather shifting across the Central and SE Bahamas at night. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 73°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less across the NW and Central Bahamas and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas, becoming gusty at times. Seas 1 to 3 feet over the NW and Central Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the SE Bahamas but higher in gusts.

Saturday 21st – Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the Central and SE Bahamas during the day through night time. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 73°F. Small craft caution across the NW and SE Bahamas but an advisory comes into effect across the Extreme NW Bahamas by evening. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas but increasing to 15 to 25 knots in the Extreme NW Bahamas by evening time; E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet across the NW and SE Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central Bahamas but building to 5 to 8 feet in the Extreme NW Bahamas by evening.

Sunday 22nd – Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers or isolated thunderstorm mainly across the NW Bahamas during the day through night time. Partly cloudy and warm with few scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms across the SE Bahamas during the day, turning mostly fair and warm at night. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 73°F. Small craft advisory in effect for the Extreme NW Bahamas and a caution across the remainder of the Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 15 to 25 knots across the Extreme NW Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots across the remainder of the Bahamas. Seas 5 to 8 feet across the Extreme NW Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet over the remainder of the Bahamas.

Monday 23rd – Partly sunny and warm with few scattered showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm across the NW Bahamas during the day, turning partly cloudy to cloudy with lingering scattered showers or possible isolated thunderstorm at night. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 73F. Small craft should exercise caution for all areas. Winds are SE’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet over the ocean for the entire Bahamas.

Tuesday 24th – Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW Bahamas during the day through night time. Partly to mostly sunny and warm elsewhere, turning fair and warm at night. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should exercise caution across entire Bahamas. Winds SSE to SSW at 15 to 20 knots across the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet across the entire Bahamas.

Wednesday 25th
–Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers across the NW Bahamas during the day, turning mainly fair and warm at night with the chance of a passing shower or two. Elsewhere partly sunny and warm with the chance of few isolated showers, turning fair and warm at night. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should exercise caution across the Central and SE Bahamas early. Winds S to SW veering SW to W at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, SE to S at 15 to 20 knots across the Central and SE Bahamas, veering more SW to W at 10 knots or less later. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet at first in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet over most areas later.

Beachgoers and Mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the risk of high surf and rip currents along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Boaters and beachgoers should be alert for possible waterspout activity and take all necessary precautions to protect life and property. Residents should be alert for the risk of localized flooding during heavy downpours and prolonged rainfall events.
