Bahamas First Celebrates International Women's Day-Donates to Community Organizations

“As a market leader, Bahamas First Holdings Limited thought it important lead the way in recognizing International Women’s Day here in The Bahamas, a global movement celebrating the achievements of women and working toward equality,” explained Leah Davis, Group Marketing and Communications Manager.

The organization celebrated International Women’s Day, March 8, with a Power Breakfast designed to celebrate, engage and inspire female employees.

The event was the first of its kind for the company and was well attended by women from across the Bahamas First Group including NUA Insurance Agents & Brokers, Bahamas First General Insurance Company and First Response.

President and CEO, Patrick Ward added, “We are an organization with women making up over 50% of our leadership team and over 65% of our entire workforce and as such recognize the invaluable contributions they continue to make to our organization and its success.

We are consistently celebrating the achievements of our team as well as working to create greater visibility for our women, in and outside the boardroom.

The global theme for International Women’s Day this year is ‘press for progress.’ Taking active steps support progress in the community, Bahamas First also celebrated IWD by investing in two local organizations, working to create opportunities, provide support and counselling, mentorship and development for girls, young ladies and women, The Bahamas Crisis Centre and The Bahamas Girl Guides.
