Sandyport Beach Resort in the Sandyport Marina Village on Nassau’s North-West coast is responding to Tourism Minister Dionisio D’Aguilar’s urging of the hospitality industry to fill the Caribbean hotel industry gap left by Hurricane Irma.

And they’ve successfully boosted their occupancy by offering a 40% room rate reduction on their website.

A television interview on the resort’s website discount rate reached local and international audiences when Nikia Christie interviewed hotel assistant manager Cheralda Arnett for the popular television show, “Tourism Today,” which featured the successful promotion to “put heads on beds.”

Arnett explained that their website promotional code-word ‘secret’ unlocks a 40% reduction on their regular hotel room rate and also on their one, two and three bedroom suites.

“We have been running a ‘secret’ promotional rate for the fall season but have decided to extend it.

We were very lucky and are very grateful in Nassau to be mostly unaffected by Hurricane Irma.

We are, though, very aware that many people in Florida and in the Southern Bahama islands have been through a very difficult time.

The sun is shining here in Nassau and the ocean blues are amazing so we have decided to increase our secret sale to 40% off, make it a bit less of a secret and hopefully spread a little bit of happiness and joy.”

General Manager Vernon Moss said the idea was originally just for local residents. “We were promoting it as a ‘staycation’ with 40% off for local residents but then decided to expand it for a break from all the back to school and storm-related stress, or just because it’s a great rate! I’m pleased it’s meeting a need; we’re going to keep it going until November 15.

“People just need to book it before the end of October at sandyportresort.com using the promo code ‘secret’, to travel and stay with us through November 15.”
