The prosecution yesterday opened its case against a man accused of robbing a policeman during his morning walk.
Brandon Cooper is on trial for the February 17, 2016 armed robbery of Arnold McKenzie at Pinewood Park.
Cooper allegedly robbed McKenzie of a Movado watch and a Samsung S5 phone.
He has denied the charge at his trial before Justice Deborah Frazier.
McKenzie's workout partner, Juliet Moncur, also a police officer, sustained facial injuries when she slipped and fell as she tried to run away.
In his opening address to the jury, prosecutor David Cox, said that the Crown would present a "strong and short case".
The first witness was Constable Deon Mills, who said that he arrested Cooper at the Central Detective Unit (CDU) on March 3, 2016.
Cooper's lawyer, Sonia Timothy, asked Mills if Cooper had turned himself in.
Mills replied, "He was at CDU."
Corporal Lawrence Smith said that he took photographs of Cooper while in the cell block at the station.
The case continues today.
