GENERAL SITUATION: Strong high pressure system off the eastern seaboard of the United States will continue to move into the Atlantic and weaken across the area. A weak cold front will move into Northwest Bahamas Thursday morning and continue southeast into the Central and SE Bahamas on Friday. High pressure ridge will remain across the Bahamas as prefrontal activity associated with a low pressure system and cold front approach the area late Sunday.

Monday 06th – Partly cloudy to cloudy and windy with the chance of few passing showers during the day. Partly cloudy to cloudy, windy and cool at night. Maximum temperature 80F and minimum temperature 64F. Small craft should remain in port. Winds NE to E at 20 to 30 knots with gusts to gale force for all areas. Seas 8 to 12 feet over the ocean but higher in gusts. Large NE’ly to E’ly swells expected.

Tuesday 07th – Partly cloudy, windy and warm with the chance of few passing showers. Partly cloudy, breezy and cool at night. Maximum temperature 82F and minimum temperature 65F. Small craft should remain in port in the Central and SE Bahamas but small craft should stay near port in the NW Bahamas . Winds E’ly at 15 to 25 knots across the NW Bahamas and winds NE to E at 20 to 30 knots but stronger in gusts across the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 6 to 10 feet across the NW Bahamas and 8 to 12 feet but higher in gusts across the Central and SE Bahamas. Large NE’ly to E’ly swells expected.

Wednesday 08th – Partly to mostly sunny, breezy and warm during the day but fair and breezy at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Small craft caution for the NW Bahamas and an advisory for the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas, decreasing below 15 knots later and E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet in the NW Bahamas, decreasing to 4 to7 feet later and 7 to 11 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas. Large NE’ly to E’ly swells expected.

Thursday 09th – Partly sunny, windy and warm with the chance of few passing showers mainly across the NW Bahamas. Fair and windy at night. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 66F. Small craft caution in the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas; E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, dropping to around 15 knots or less in the Central Bahamas later. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas. Dropping to 5 feet or less in the Central Bahamas later. Large E’ly swells expected across the ocean.

Friday 10th – Mostly sunny, breezy and warm with showers likely in the NW Bahamas. Partly cloudy to fair skies, breezy and warm with the chance of few passing showers. Maximum temperature 83F and minimum temperature 68°F. Small craft early across the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and NE to E at 15 to 20 knots at first, falling to 15 knots or less later in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling to 5 feet or less later.

Saturday 11th – Partly sunny and warm across Bahamas with few isolated showers likely. Fair and a bit breezy at night. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 67°F. Small craft caution possible for the Central and SE Bahamas late. Winds NE to E at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and NE to E at 12 to 18 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet across the NW Bahamas, and 3 to 5 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Sunday 12th – Mostly sunny and warm but breezy across the Bahamas with increasing clouds and showers across the NW Bahamas towards night time. Fair and breezy in the Central and SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 71°F. Small craft caution for the entire Bahamas; dropping below caution in the NW and Central Bahamas by early afternoon. Winds E to SE veering SE to S at 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots by afternoon in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, decreasing to 15 knots or less in the afternoon in the Central Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet over all areas early, then 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 5 feet or less in the Central Bahamas by early afternoon.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms.
