GENERAL SITUATION: High pressure system across the area will weaken as it moves further east of the Bahamas through the weekend. A strong cold front quickly moves through the Northwest Bahamas early Monday and it continue through the Central and Southeast Bahamas by early Tuesday. High pressure system gradually rebuilds across the Bahamas through Wednesday.

Friday 20th – Mostly sunny and warm. Fair to clear skies and cool at night. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 61°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less over most areas. Seas 1 to 3 feet across the Bahamas.

Saturday 21st – Mostly sunny and warm. Fair to clear skies and cool at night. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Winds SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 10 knots or less in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet across the NW Bahamas and 1 to 3 feet across the Central and SE Bahamas.

Sunday 22nd – Mostly sunny and warm with the slight chance of a passing shower. Fair and mild at night. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 68°F. Small craft should exercise caution across the NW Bahamas. Winds S’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet over the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Monday 23rd – Partly to mostly cloudy, warm and windy with scattered showers and thunderstorms near the front in the NW Bahamas. Partly cloudy and windy at night. Maximum temperature 76°F and minimum temperature 70°F. Small craft advisory in effect for the NW and Central Bahamas and a caution for the SE Bahamas. Winds SSE to SSW at 20 to 30 knots then shifting more W’ly after frontal passage across the NW and Central Bahamas and SE’ly at 15 to 20 knots increasing to 25 to 30 knots later across the SE Bahamas. Seas 8 to 12 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 building to 8 to 12 feet in the SE Bahamas

Tuesday 24th – Partly cloudy, mild and windy during the day with few passing showers likely. Few clouds and breezy at night. Maximum temperature 78°F and minimum Temperature 66°F. Small craft caution across the Bahamas. Winds W to NW at 15 to 20 knots across the entire Bahamas. Seas 4 to 7 feet across the Bahamas.

Wednesday 25th – Mostly Sunny and warm. Fair and mild at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Winds will veer from the NW to the NE to E at 10 knots or less across the Bahamas, then becoming more SE’ly across the NW Bahamas late. Seas 3 feet or less across the entire Bahamas.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms.
