At a time when residents across the country are still grappling with the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, one local musician is bringing a message of hope and perseverance.

Singer-Songwriter Tony Lowe has released his fourth single, the aptly-titled "We'll Rise", to inspire Bahamians to unite in support of each other during this challenging time.

"I started writing the chorus for 'We'll Rise' almost three weeks before the storm hit," Lowe said. "I had this feeling we needed to come together as a country and rise together to support each other. After seeing the devastation that the storm caused on our island alone, and realising that Grand Bahama wasn't the only island affected, I knew that the whole country could benefit from a song of hope."

Singer-Songwriter Tony Lowe has released his fourth single, the aptly-titled "We'll Rise", to inspire Bahamians to unite in support of each other.

Lowe enlisted the help of 15 talented friends to bring this empowering anthem to the public, noting that the song's message was too important to sing alone. "We'll Rise" features contributions from Tomii Culmer, PeeJay Blaze, Emmanuel Stuart, Vanessa "Divine Lady" Clarke, Doranell Brown, Erik Russell, Paige Nixon, Shavado Bastian, Javan Hunt, Janelle Thompson, Patron Missick, Vinessa "Harmony" Theoc, Georgina Ward, Shelley Carey-Moxey and Shirley Lowe.

Lowe and friends will perform the moving song for the first time during a free concert at Port Lucaya Marketplace's Count Basie Square on Friday, November 25, beginning at 7:00 p.m. The "Still Standing After the Storm" live event will include performances from local singers, dancers and orators who ask that all attendees bring a donation of canned goods and other non-perishable food items to present to the Salvation Army and Bahamas Red Society Cross Grand Bahama Centre. The donation will benefit hurricane victims and other families in need.
