Bahamas Airport closures due to hurricane Matthew

Airport closures for The Department of Civil Aviation in conjunction with the Airport Authority of The Bahamas and following consultation with the Department of Meteorology, advises the public that the following airport closures will go into effect on Tuesday and Wednesday the 4th and 5th of October, 2016, as a result of tropical or hurricane force winds emanating from Hurricane Matthew:

The Department of Civil Aviation and the Airport Authority will advise the public of any changes to the afore-mentioned times, and on the airport reopenings, as necessary.

The public is advised that as of 11am on Wednesday, 5th October 2016, ALL airports in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas must be closed in the interest of the safety of the travelling public.
