March 18-20 Great Abaco Family Fitness Weekend Triathlon, http://www.gaffw.com/registration. Treasure Cay Beach, Marina & Golf Resort, Treasure Cay Treasure Cay, Abaco, Bahamas.

March 27 NPCA Road Race, start time 8am, start and finish Goodman’s Bay. Elite, senior 1&2 38 miles, senior 3, open m/f, juniors, 25 miles, entry fee $10 adults, $5 juniors. Register at the start. Whatsapp: Barron 552-5128.

Weekday rides east - Morning, Tuesday & Thursday leaving 5am sharp from Sea Grapes Shopping Centre, East Prince Charles Drive. This ride is a 17-mile loop to the Northbound Paradise Island Bridge and back again (Both bridges are sometimes incorporated depending on available time). Open to riders capable of 18 mph + for 1 hour. Lights are essential.

Weekday rides west - Morning, Wednesdays & Fridays leaving 4:45am sharp from Cable Beach Police Station, West Bay St. This ride is a 20 mile loop. The route is varied. Open to riders capable of 18 mph + for 1 hr. Lights are essential. Contact Shantel to confirm your attendance.Afternoon, Tuesdays & Thursdays leaving 5:30pm sharp from Lyford Cay Gas Station Parking Lot. This ride is 18-20 miles depending on whether you choose to do a second loop. Recommended for Strong Riders capable of 20mph+ for 1-1.5hrs. Intermediate Riders 18-22mph -see Spyda

Weekend rides - Saturdays leaving 6am sharp from Harbour Bay Shopping Centre in front of First Caribbean Bank (Starbuck’s) 30 miles headed West. In order to complete this ride it is recommended that you have done some recent cycling! Leaving P/I Bridges optional at the end. The pace will range from 18–20+mph, 2-hour duration.

Sundays leaving 6am sharp from Harbour Bay Shopping Centre in front of First Caribbean Bank (Starbuck’s) 40-50 miles headed East. This ride is not recommended if you have not cycled recently or first timers! P/I Bridges optional at the end. The pace will range from 18–20+mph, 3-3.5 hour duration (cyclists are invited to join in anywhere along the route).

May 16 - Seagillian Ride, Eleuthera, 50/100 miles.

Kiwanis Club of New Providence. - The officers and members of the Kiwanis Club of New Providence have celebrated reaching its 25th anniversary.

On Tuesday March 26, 1991 (emerging from the Kiwanianne Club of First Nassau), with an all-female charter member list, the Kiwanis Club of New Providence was born. Under the leadership of Diamond Distinguished Charter President L. Sandra Butler, with determined spirits and the Kiwanis Motto “Serving the Children of the World” at heart, KCNP has made a difference.

KCNP boasts the first female Lieutenant Governor of Division 22, as well as the first Diamond Distinguished Charter President. It has also won the Lieutenant Governor’s Ribbon, the Ralph Taylor Memorial Gong Award, the highest award for Club Bulletin and been recognised by the Eastern Canada & Caribbean District for our service projects.

The club has worked with the Lyford Cay Foundation to donate a $47,000 ventilators for premature babies to the Ante-natal Care Ward at PMH. It has also continued to assist the Aids Camp and The Cancer Society of The Bahamas. KCNP works the Red Cross Fair and Ring bells during the yuletide season to assist the Salvation Army as well as assist with the Soup Kitchen Meadows St.

Additionally, it continues to make a difference in the lives of children throughout The Bahamas with bi-weekly breakfast programmes at both Claridge and Albury Sayle Primary Schools, Reading Programs in several pre and primary schools, presentations of school supplies to children in the Kemp Road Community and our Annual Reading Fair on Pinewood Park. Members frequently visit and assist the Children’s Ward at PMH, the Children’s Emergency Hostel, Nazareth Centre, Women Prison at HMP, Demetrius Centre for the aged and PACE.
