Opportunities are often disguised

Many years ago I facilitated management and motivational seminars for a leading organization that operated telecommunications companies throughout the world. I commenced my association with the worldwide telecommunications organization in the Caribbean, and for several years facilitated seminars throughout most of the English speaking islands and in Guyana in South America and Belize in Central America, which undoubtedly is one of the hottest countries I've ever visited. Eventually I had covered all of the islands and facilitated seminars for a couple of years -- however, now that well had dried up so to speak.

Then out of the blue a gentleman contacted me who used to be the regional director in the Caribbean for the telecommunications company who had now been appointed regional director for the Asia-Pacific region based in Hong Kong. He asked me to come out to Hong Kong to address a management meeting -- now that was a long way to go just for a one-hour address to his management team which I was at first hesitant to accept.

However, I did accept his offer and believe me, it was the beginning of a whole new phase of my work, which resulted in me facilitating seminars in Hong Kong and Macau in China, in Fiji, Vanuatu, and Guam in the Pacific, Manila in the Philippines, and Sydney and Brisbane in Australia. I also facilitated seminars for other companies in Hong Kong including Philips Electrical and many others. Yes My Friend, as the title of today's article states, opportunities are often disguised. Yes they are!

Yes indeed, if I had said no to the invitation to address the management team of that telecommunications giant in Hong Kong, I would not have spent the next few years traveling the Pacific, Asia and Australia. It was a wonderful experience. So it's important for you to always be positive thus cultivating an open mind so that you do not turn down great opportunities to advance and succeed in life, which may be disguised.
