NASSAU, Bahamas: Miss Heritage Bahamas, the beautiful Kylie Butler, left yesterday, November 9th, 2015 for Johannesburg, South Africa to compete in the Miss Heritage Global Pageant. The Miss Heritage Global serves as a platform to promote Heritage exchange amongst the participating Queens and promotes and preserves World Heritage, implementing UNESCO World Heritage convention to achieve the Millennium Development Goals Declaration. The final coronation for Miss Heritage Global will take place this Sunday, November 15th, 2015.
Kylie is a 19-year-old honors graduate of Bishop Michael Eldon High School. She is currently pursuing her BioChemistry degree at the College of the Bahamas' Northern Campus. Although Kylie is a fresh face to pageantry, she is no stranger to the stage. Kylie began her modeling career four years ago and is now excited about the opportunity to represent her country on an international stage.
Kylie is empowered to achieve her goal of effectively carrying out her platform "Generation REBOOT." Kylie's objective is to encourage preservation and restoration of Bahamian heritage. Kylie believes that over years the world has become more modernized, and, as a result, a lot of young Bahamians have lost their appreciation for our native Bahamian music, folktales, and traditions; all the things that make us authentically Bahamian. Therefore, Kylie's mission is to educate and promote heritage preservation among our Bahamian young people.
"I am very excited about this opportunity to travel to South Africa. It has always been a dream of mine to one day makes it to Africa, so having the opportunity to experience this journey as an ambassador for my country makes it even more special" said Miss Butler. "Following in Shequera's footsteps as the first ever Miss Heritage Global winner is a little nerve wracking. However, I do believe that I have what it takes also to succeed at Miss Heritage this year!"
