Preparation is the key

The short phrase that is the title of this article is an extremely important one for anyone who wishes to be successful at anything in life -- "Preparation is the Key. For example, a good chef knows, that in order for his or her food to be appetizing and taste good, a whole lot of preparation needs to go into the whole process before the actual cooking takes place. In fact, in most restaurants they actually have cooks who just deal with the preparation of the meals.

Here's another example to illustrate how very important preparation is to the whole success process. When I did my "Success Files" series on radio, I spent at least one hour and most times much more conducting a pre-interview with my guests either at their home or place of business asking questions and making copious notes. Then I'd write out in great detail on paper a list of the important questions that I'd ask my guests when we went to the studio to record the actual programs. Because of this preparation, the interviews went very smoothly and the whole series was extremely successful.  Incidentally, you can have access to my "Success Files" series by logging onto my website at www.dpaulreilly.com.

Yes, there's no doubt about it as today's title correctly states, preparation is the key to success in any endeavor. So my friend, what is it that you wish to do with your life right now? Whatever it is, you need to focus firstly on exactly what it is that you really wish to accomplish, and then start to do in-depth preparation so that when you actually start the process of achieving your objectives, you will have already put in a solid foundation as you spent a whole lot of time in the planning, the preparation process, so that your task will in fact be relatively smooth sailing as you just implement your prepared plans. Yes indeed, if you wish to be successful at anything, you need to realize that your preparation is the key to success in any endeavor.

So what is it that you really wish to do with your life, across the board? Once you determine that and write out your goals in great detail, then you must go to work on the preparation process. Let's suppose that you're young and decide to be an accountant, well then, the actual preparation will entail a whole lot of studying, coupled with some practical experience working in the field, maybe as a clerk in the accounts department of a business or government department in order to get some practical experience working in the field of your choice. And my friend, the better your preparation, the greater are your hopes of being truly successful.
