Haiti starts vaccinating against tetanus and neonatal tetanus during Vaccination Week in the Americas

Port-of-Prince, Haiti
-- Haiti today kicked off a new campaign to immunize women of
childbearing age against tetanus during a launching event for the 11th
Vaccination Week in the Americas.

On hand for the launch were
representatives of Haiti's Ministry of Public Health and Population, the
Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO),
UNICEF, the GAVI Alliance, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention.

The tetanus vaccination campaign, which will be carried out April 29 to May 5,

Nassau, Bahamas - The following is a statement by Bradley Roberts, National Chairman, Progressive Liberal Party:

It
is not enough that Dr. Minnis did not see his way to improve conditions
at the public landfill while he sat around the FNM cabinet table for
five years, he has now sunk to a new low by willfully misleading the
Bahamian people on the availability of the asthma drug Albuterol.

The
Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) refuted these bogus claims made by the
opposition leader that were published in the Wednesday (April 24)
edition of the Tribune regarding the availability of the asthma
medication Albuterol at the Princess Margaret Hospital.

NASSAU, Bahamas -- The CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship is set to be held for the first time in the Bahamas, May 8-12.  "The widespread interest in this tournament provides confirmation of the growth of beach soccer throughout the Confederation, contributing to the strengthening of our sport across disciplines," said President Webb. "It pleases me to note that the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship is set to be held for the first time in the Caribbean, an area where the sport continues to makes great strides."
Nations competing for the chance to represent CONCACAF in this year's FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Papeete, Tahiti, include host nation the Bahamas and 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup semifinalist El Salvador, as well as defending CONCACAF champion Mexico. Rounding out the field are debutants Guyana, Puerto Rico and Trinidad and Tobago, along with returnees Canada, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Jamaica, and the United States.
The names of the men who will represent the Bahamas in the upcoming FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup CONCACAF Qualifiers 2013, to be conducted in Nassau, Bahamas May 8th-12th have been confirmed.
