FOUR BAHAMAS FIRMS FIND WINNING WAYS

FOUR Bahamian businesses - a restaurant and three luxury retailers recently came up winners in the MasterCard-Ministry of Tourism 'Find Your Way' initiative, walking away with an early Christmas present of cash from the international credit and debit card company for being number one in the increase of MasterCard sales volume for the month.

The most recent winners were the Kafe Kalik restaurant at Lynden Pindling International Airport, Carlo Milano and Effy Jewellers of Bay Street, and A la Plage, Marina Village, Paradise Island. Each received international recognition and a cheque for $1,000, rewarding them for their performance.

THE fact that 95 per cent of Nassau Container Port's users are also shareholders in it will act as a "balance" preventing tariffs and services from becoming too expensive or inefficient, its chief executive telling Tribune Business he come under pressure from "day one" if this was so.

TWO TEENAGE girls who had been missing, including one who hadn't been seen since Christmas Day, have been found safe.

Tatiana Cesaire, 15, of Augusta Street, off West Bay Street, had last been seen at home on Tuesday around 6pm, while Keva Pierre, 14, of Seton Street, in Chippingham, went missing on Christmas Day.

Police said last night that officers of the Southern Division had arrested the two teenagers at about 8.30pm last night at Ponciana Drive, west of Hospital Lane.

A spokeswoman said that both of the girls were in good health.

Beverly Hills, CA  - The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences
has unveiled the poster for the 84th Academy Awards®. The art features
the iconic Oscar statuette alongside memorable images from eight films
spanning eight decades: "Gone with the Wind" (1939), "Casablanca"
(1943), "Giant" (1956), "The Sound of Music" (1965), "The Godfather"
(1972), "Driving Miss Daisy" (1989), "Forrest Gump" (1994) and
"Gladiator" (2000). All the films featured on the poster won the Academy
Award® for Best Picture, except "Giant," for which George Stevens won
the Oscar for Directing.
