Calm assertive

I'm sure that many if not most of my readers have watched 'The Dog Whisperer' on television with Cesar Millan as he visits with people who have unruly, seemingly uncontrollable dogs. It's really amazing to watch him as he takes an out of control, perhaps overly aggressive dog and turns the situation around when the dog becomes a different animal who is most co-operative and indeed manageable. A phrase which Cesar Millan uses over and over again when instructing the owners of pets how to change their animal's behavior is in fact the title of today's article 'Calm & Assertive'.

So D. Paul are you comparing human beings to dogs here today, you may query? Not at all, I would never insult animals in that way. But seriously, if you My Friend wish to be successful at all that you undertake in life, you really need to cultivate a 'Calm & Assertive' personality which will indeed assist you greatly as you pursue your goals and objectives.

So D. Paul, can you perhaps elaborate on how I can be both 'Calm & Assertive' at the same time? Well My Friend, you really do have to be assertive if you wish to achieve your objectives, thus you do not allow others to stop you from reaching your targets in life. However, you have to temper your assertiveness, so that you don't come over as being excessively aggressive and generally a great big 'pain in the neck' thus turning people off instead of on. So you're assertive in a calm way.

As I have relayed to you My Valued Readers on many occasions in the past in these articles, we must have a certain degree of balance in our lives if we wish to consistently succeed. Buddha in his teachings refers to this as 'The Middle Road'. So, in conclusion, it's very important for you to at all times when dealing with others as Cesar Millan states it be 'Calm & Assertive'.
