Attempted murder case adjourned to 2016 due to air conditioning malfunction

A judge refused to begin an attempted murder case yesterday due to the unbearable heat in the main Supreme Court building. Justice Roy Jones adjourned the trial of Reginald Glinton, which was scheduled to begin yesterday, to November 26, 2016. That date became available because Corey Thompson, the defendant in the back-up case, pleaded guilty.

Thompson accepted responsibility for the June 2014 rape, armed robbery and attempted murder of a 26-year-old woman. Jones sentenced Thompson to 14 years' imprisonment on each count to run concurrently. The air conditioning unit in the building has not been working since November 9.
