HBO obtains most wins during the 2015 'Critics' Choice TV Awards

During the 5th annual Critics’ Choice TV Awards, celebrated the evening of May 31st and where 18 of the best television series were recognized, HBO received 7 awards of the 29 nominations it garnered – including for programming which HBO has rights to in the region – making it the most honored television network of the night.

Silicon Valley won Best Comedy Series and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (T.J. Miller). Additionally, Bessie was selected as Best Movie Made for Television and Olive Kitteridge as Best Limited Series. Frances McDormand and Bill Murray were recognized as Best Actress and Best Actor in a Movie or Limited Series, respectively.

HBO programs awarded during this year’s Critics’ Choice TV Awards include:

Best Comedy Series: Silicon Valley

Best Limited Series: Olive Kitteridge

Best Movie Made for Television: Bessie

Best Actress in a Movie or Limited Series: Frances McDormand (Olive Kitteridge)

Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series: T.J. Miller (Silicon Valley)

Best Actor in a Movie or Limited Series: David Oyelowo (Nightingale)

Best Actor in a Movie or Limited Series: Bill Murray (Olive Kitteridge)

Among HBO’s nominations were: Game of Thrones for Best Drama Series, Thomas Middleditch for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Silicon Valley, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Veep, Melanie Lynskey as Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Togetherness, Becky Ann Baker as Best Guest Performer in a Comedy Series for Girls, Best Movie Made for TV for Nightingale, Best Actress in a Movie or Limited Series for Queen Latifah in Bessie, Eva Green as Best Actress in a Drama Series for Penny Dreadful, Julianne Nicholson As Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series for Masters of Sex, among others.
