Reiss Engineering, Ltd. will be making a donation to the Ranfurly Homes for Children to assist with the programs and needs of this privately run home for needy children. The presentation of the donation will be held at the Ranfurly Home for Children on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10 a.m.

The Ranfurly Homes for Children has been a safe haven for thousands of Bahamian children since 1956. The Home provides a safe, structured environment for children who have been orphaned, abused, neglected or abandoned.

The home originated in the mid-1950’s after a massive fire in downtown Nassau banished children to living in cardboard boxes. The home now has the capacity to accommodate more than 45 children who range in age from 5 to 20 and is equipped with three dormitories, a study room, living room, a computer/library center and a kitchen and dining facility.

“As the largest Bahamian-owned engineering firm, Reiss is committed to giving back to the community in which we work and live,” said Reiss President Robert Reiss. “We are pleased to give this donation to the Ranfurly Homes for Children, and respect the work they are doing to house, educate and care for the local children that are less fortunate,” noted Reiss.

On Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10 a.m., The Deputy Project Manager of Reiss Engineering, Antoine Sands will be presenting a $5,000 check to the Director of the Ranfurly Homes for Children Alex Roberts.
