A man who married during a controversial ceremony at the Central Police Station was released on $15,000 bail yesterday.
Kendrick Tinker, 35, of Grand Bahama, and Cindy Carrol exchanged vows at the station on March 8, a day after his arrest on charges of drug possession with intent to supply.
Magistrate Andrew Forbes had to refuse bail for Tinker in accordance with the amended Bail Act.
However, prosecutor Algernon Allen Jr. did not oppose the bail application for Tinker and his co-accused Devon Rolle and Elvardo Farrington.
Senior Justice Jon Isaacs set bail for the other two men on the same terms.
The men will be tried on allegations that they conspired to possess 50 pounds of marijuana with the intent to supply, and had 50 pounds of marijuana with intent to supply on June 5.
Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Ellison Greenslade said recently that four police officers from the station could face dismissal if convicted of misconduct during an internal disciplinary hearing.
