NASSAU, Bahamas -- Each year Doctors Hospital provides a donation to The Bahamas Children?s Emergency Hostel in support of the remarkable job that they do providing temporary shelter, food, clothing, and other necessities for the benefit of abused, abandoned and neglected children.

The Hostel houses approximately 32 children, ages 1 to 11 years, and is a charitable non-profit organization that strives on donations, and fundraising from the Church, civic and business organizations, the Government, and individuals from the private sector. The operating costs to run the facility increase every year causing financial challenges for the Hostel.

Their latest fundraising initiative includes their Annual Handbook focusing on Teenage Pregnancy. The Handbook will reach out and educate the youth, especially our young women whom may be promiscuous, sexually assaulted or potentially pregnant, as well as provide information on how to deal with matters like these.

Persons can help the Bahamas Children?s Emergency Hostel by donating funds, supplies, lending a hand, sponsoring a project or an event, or participating in their corporate fundraising program or charitable foundation program. All donations and gifts are accepted, including clothes, shoes, books and toys. School supplies, including books, stationary and school uniforms are often in need.

If you are interested in providing a donation or would like more information about the Bahamas Children?s Emergency Hostel, please contact the Hostel directly at 341-1951 or 361-7471.
