The Sandals Foundation has begun its refurbishment of L.N. Coakley High School’s basketball court after securing an Exuma contractor to complete the work.

Cornell Armbrister, who will oversee the construction of the new court, said he expects the work to be done in time for the beginning of the new school year.

L.N. Coakley, Exuma’s only high school, was adopted by the Sandals Foundation and has been the recipient of several donations, including a brand new computer lab.

The disrepair of the basketball court was recently taken into consideration and a decision was made to rebuild it. The old court had been overgrown with weeds and its surface pitted by the elements. The Sandals Foundation was more than delighted to continue to assist in the development of Exuma’s youth through its investment in education.
