A MAN was convicted of murder yesterday for the death of his former girlfriend whose body was found inside a grave in the Bahamas Veteran's Cemetery.

After some three hours of deliberations, a jury of eight women and four men returned with a unanimous guilty verdict in the case of Angelo Poitier. Poitier, 24, was on trial for the murder of former girlfriend Shanice Adderley, 19.

The young woman's body was discovered inside a grave in the Bahamas Veteran's Cemetery on Infant View Road on May 27.
