17 Bahamian team members of Sandals Emerald Bay trained as lifeguards

EMERALD BAY, Exuma -- In compliance with a government mandate for certified lifeguards on major resort properties, Sandals Emerald Bay trained 17 Bahamian team members as lifeguards.  The week long training was conducted by Brad McConnell from the Canadian Life Saving Society - Ontario Branch.
Mr. McConnell congratulated Sandals on facilitating the training and commended the lifeguards for their hard work.
The team members were trained in, Standard First Aid, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, National Lifeguard Waterfront option and Open Water Lifesaver Level 2.  
Mr. McConnell reminded the team that their training requires that they maintain their fitness levels and exercise good judgment. He also encouraged them to continue to practice their CPR and First Aid skills.
Lennox Trusty, Watersports Manager was extremely proud of his team and saying: "I have some of the best guys and they did very well."
His sentiments were echoed by General Manager, Jeremy Mutton who applauded their success. "Emerald Bay is proud to be the trendsetter for such an initiative and believes that safety is of paramount importance for its operations."
